Specialists at the American Academy of Ophthalmology (American Academy of Ophthalmology) have warned that one of the earliest symptoms of coronavirus infection is inflammation of the mucous membrane of the eye – conjunctivitis.
Doctors refer to the results of two recent studies by doctors from China who worked with infected patients. Viral conjunctivitis has been reported in one of 30 patients. In another work, inflammation of the mucous membrane of the eye was recorded in nine people out of 1099 laboratory-confirmed cases.
Australian researchers previously stated that many coronavirus-infected patients who do not have typical symptoms of the disease (fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath) have a common symptom. This anosmia is a loss of smell.
Other atypical symptoms of COVID-19 include sore throat, problems with the gastrointestinal tract.
