Plenty of doctors called it “madness,” but Donald Trump still supports his decision to take a car tour earlier this week to wave to the hundreds of supporters at Walter Reed Hospital. That’s what the president said in an interview with Fox news.

“I’m feeling good.” That’s what Donald Trump said in his first interview since he was hospitalized with Covid-19. On Fox news he said he is undergoing further treatment in the White House. “But I no longer take medication,” said the president, who admitted that the virus had made him very tired.
“The most important thing is that we were quick,” says Trump. “But I have a lot of access to medication and medical help, so it’s a lot easier for me than for people who can’t go to the doctor quickly. And I think it would have gotten a lot worse if we hadn’t been there so soon. Even with these medications, it really makes a difference whether you get them very early or later. Being there early was very important to me. ”
Joyride
The interviewer also cited the ailing president’s tour of the hospital to wave to the hundreds of people who stood there cheering him on. Many doctors called this madness and an irresponsible risk to his bodyguards who were in the car. “They were very well protected,” he defends his criticized ‘joyride’.
The idea for the tour came from himself. “I was high in the hospital there and I heard their encouragement through the windows and walls. After two days in the hospital, I really wanted to thank them, so I consulted with the Secret Service. They said they had no problem with it. I just wanted to drive past the people and wave to them. It has become a beautiful expression of love. Not one person with negative thoughts was there. ”
