Recent data suggest that more than 80 percent of those unvaccinated are infected. According to the findings of the Law, doctors thus witness a paradoxical situation. Patients who have refused vaccination demand special treatment, which is on the same principle as vaccination.

One hundred times higher costs
The change in opinion is quite understandable, but it gives doctors many times higher treatment costs in difficult times and the state.

“They have refused vaccination and accept no less ‘experimental’ monoclonal antibody treatment at a hundred times higher cost. I’m thinking about how to communicate, “wrote Ludmila Bezdíčková, a general practitioner from Prague 6 on Twitter, but welcomes the possibility of early indication of monoclonal antibodies in high-risk patients with covid after an antigen test in a general practitioner’s office.

Another doctor commented on the situation over the weekend: “I have been dealing with the application of PCR monoclonal antibodies to a positive unvaccinated patient at risk since yesterday afternoon.”
–
“So far, eight emails and five phone calls and messaging. In my free time, I solve something that may not have happened at all. Personal responsibility is completely missing here, “the doctor added.

According to the chairman of the Association of General Practitioners in the Czech Republic, Petr Šonka, these doctors are not the only ones. “Such are the patients. And I fully understand my colleagues’ grievances. So far, monoclonal antibodies have been administered, say, hundreds of doses, so these are not horrific numbers. These people proceeded lightly, in their opinion they did not want experimental vaccinations, but they want a cocktail of antibodies, even if they are in the same regime. What can be done about it, “asks doctor Šonka.

The Czech Republic bought the monoclonal antibody drugs Bamlanivimab before the beginning of spring for 20 thousand crowns and Regn-cov2 for 65 thousand crowns per dose.
–
The University Hospital Brno has almost 5,000 doses of monoclonal drugs for 315.5 million and FN Motol about 2,000 doses for 130 million crowns. The supply of Regn-cov2 is a total of 7,000 doses and of Bamlanivimab approximately 1,000 doses.

While the EU currently pays for the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine, after the price increase of almost a hundred in our currency, less than 500 crowns. The second mRNA vaccine, which is also revaccinated by humans, will cost almost 550 crowns.

Fears that drugs with an expiration date of 2023 would remain in storage have faded with the worsening epidemic. It is not clear now whether there will be enough of them or whether they will have to buy more. What is clear, however, is that when it comes to people’s lives, they do not ask about the origin of drugs. Monoclonal antibodies in the form of an infusion suddenly do not bother them as a medicine.
