It is a departure that marks the spirits. Doctor Pierre Kalfon, doctor in charge of the resuscitation service at the Hospitals of Chartres and former president of the Establishment Medical Commission (CME), is leaving his post.
This recognized professional has gone on a mission to Martinique, where he should take on new responsibilities within the University Hospital.
For many members of the Chartres hospital staff, Dr. Pierre Kalfon made a strong impression on his time in Chartres. “The one who guided us through the storms,” some say.
Interview with the head of the intensive care unit at Chartres hospital: “Since August, no patient admitted to intensive care has been vaccinated against Covid-19”
“A great sense of organization”
Head of the intensive care unit since 2003 and president of the CME from 2011 to October 2021, Pierre Kalfon was promoted to Knight of the National Order of Merit in June 2021, in particular for his remarkable investment during the Covid health crisis.
His colleagues also salute his commitment during this period, Doctor Pierre Kalfon showing, “as head of the intensive care unit, but also as president of CME, his great sense of organization and adaptation, which allowed the hospital to come out unscathed and with their heads held high”.
At Chartres hospital, the head of the intensive care unit fears “an extremely problematic month of April”
Pierre Kalfon has also launched, with the management of the establishment, a project for a new resuscitation, larger and more adapted to new practices. Project postponed by the health crisis, but which should see the light of day in 2024.
