Doctor is said to have called central figures

In the doping scandal surrounding “Operation Phlebotomy”, the alleged mastermind Mark S. is said to have revealed key figures in his network. This appears to be evident from documents from a legally completed legal process for doping in other European countries, which are available to the ARD doping editorial team. It contains statements by Mark S. before interrogators.

The doctor has since lodged a constitutional complaint because he has been in custody since March 2019, as his legal adviser told the ARD. So far there is no trial date. At the end of February 2019, Austrian and German authorities carried out raids during the Nordic World Ski Championships in Innsbruck and Seefeld, including the German sports doctor in Erfurt.

In the ARD uncovered affair over many years of blood doping, the Munich public prosecutor then brought charges against Mark S. and four helpers. The authority accuses the doctor and his assistants of other commercial and sometimes band-related use of prohibited doping methods or aid. 23 athletes, including some Austrians, were found in the blood doping investigation. The doctor faces a prison sentence of several years.
