Doctor helps a person who falls ill on the street and the Seagulls risk losing the game by default

Second defeat in the championship, the first within friendly walls, at the end of a good, tight and balanced match, which ended with a score of 74-81

In the presence of the Mens leaders Sana Mesagne, the Studio 3A Seagulls Monopoli collected their second defeat in the championship, the first within friendly walls, at the end of a beautiful, tight and balanced match, which ended with a score of 74-81.

The match starts with a yellow. The home team’s doctor, on his way to the tensile structure, was apparently forced to stop to provide first aid to a passer-by who had fallen ill. These are moments of great apprehension because the doctor would have been busy performing cardiac massage in the street for several minutes and, given the gravity of the situation, collaborating with the 118 doctors who arrived on site. The extraordinary nature of the emergency, however, does not relieve the home team from the risk of having the match declared lost: only the fortunate and timely arrival of the doctor allows the match to proceed smoothly, albeit with a 20′ delay.
A paradoxical situation which will most likely expose the home team to a fine.

Fortunately, the match is exciting from the start.

Very balanced first quarter with the two teams trying to push forward and stretch and are promptly caught up by their opponents. After just over 5′, all of the quintet sent onto the pitch by coach Moré have already been on the scoresheet, with Moschettini (9) scoring the first 5 points of the match for the Seagulls and Torresi (25) straddling the first and the second quarter scores 9 in a row.
More enterprising guests close to the break, with the Pazzarelli-Ciccarese duo, but Studio 3A held on, finding points also from the bench with Casato (6), Caleprico (3), Cofano (5) and Miccoli (1), despite the referees decide to adopt a very severe yardstick, limiting the development of the rhythm and play on both sides and showering the home team with fouls, especially.

And when the Seagulls with Calabretto (11), Torresi and a triple from Pavone (9) manage to mend the gap with the guests which had brought them to a maximum 15 point advantage by being able to manage the overtaking ball several times, they again referees interrupt the inertia by interpreting two consecutive situations in which Sorino (5) is affected in opposite ways. Mesagne scores from the foul line and manages to manage the lead in the last 90 seconds.

“For me it was a special day,” declared Andrea Zanzarella, member of the Seagulls board and originally from Mesagni, at the end of the match. “Being able to pay homage to the team from my hometown with a plaque of esteem and recognition is a source of pride, even if I now feel like a monopolist by adoption. We saw a great match on the parquet. Mesagne is a team that will certainly fight to move up the category, our compliments go to them for the fair play on the pitch and the entertaining show offered in the match.”

Next appointment for Sunday 10 November at 6.00 pm when the city derby will take place with the friends of AP Monopoli.
