According to Dr.dr. Erlina Burhan, M.Sc, Sp.P(K), Pulmonary Disease Specialist from Friendship Hospital, since early January 2022, there have been significant developments.
“At the beginning of the year there were still under 200 cases. Then, it increased to thousands. Deaths from Omicron have also been reported,” said doctor Erlina in a webinar held by SOHO Global Health with the theme ‘Don’t be careless, Increase Body Endurance to Prevent Covid Transmission’, Thursday (3/2).

It features, Omicron is one of the variants of the Covid-19.
One of the must-know characteristics of the Omicor is that it is very contagious compared to the Delta.
This can be seen from the very rapid increase in daily cases.
Previously, in mid-December, the Omicron case was an imported case, which was brought from overseas people or Foreign Travel Actors (PPLN).
However, after the passage of time, now there has been transmission in the community.
And it is suspected that transmission in the community has reached more than 20 percent.
“My assumption is that if an examination is carried out, most of the cases in Indonesia are already Omicron,” said doctor Erlin.
