Jakarta (ANTARA) – Pediatrician Dr. Dwinanda Aidina, Sp.A (K) said that it is necessary to pay attention to several diseases because they are vulnerable to attack children during the rainy season, one of which is cough and cold which can be prevented by consuming a balanced diet.
“Indeed, we cannot avoid the rainy season, but we can prevent our children from being healthier and better prepared for the rainy season,” a physician from the National Maternal and Child Health Center of RSAB Harapan Kita said in a statement. virtual speech in Jakarta, Thursday.
He said there are several pathogens that function most optimally during the cold or rainy season.
He also stated that the causes of coughs and colds are actually different, for example coldflu, adenovirus, RSV, etc.
In general, the cause of the common cold is a mild category of virus.
However, Dwinanda added, children may be more susceptible to becoming infected with the virus if their immune systems are not optimal.
“Children’s immune systems have not been trained, so they are more susceptible to viral infections than adults. For example, play with a friend who has a cold, the next day he catches a cold. If we (adults), our child is sick all day or a week with a cold, maybe we can’t catch it, “she said.

He reminded parents not to forget to take their children to immunization health facilities so that they can increase their immunity against diseases that can be prevented with immunization (PD3I) and encourage children to continue doing physical activity and exercise.
