Dr. Teodor Bădescu, primary gastroenterologist with skills in Endoscopy and Therapeutic Digestive Endoscopy, from SANADOR Clinical Hospital, spoke at DC News and DC Medical Interviews about the categories of people exposed to hepatitis.

“Regarding hepatitis, there are some more exposed categories. For example, front-line doctors, dentists, who inevitably get stung, surgeons, that’s why it’s good to have these doctors vaccinated. Another category, unfortunately, not negligible refers to drug users. It is a reality in Romania. There are still many who administer injectable drugs “, said doctor Teodor Bădescu.

Sexual transmission is less likely, according to the doctor. “We had families of patients with cirrhosis. I also tested their partner. I think I had two situations when both were infected after 20-30 years of marriage. It depends a lot on the amount of virus that is transmitted, it depends on the intensity of the effort or sexual intercourse. There are many factors involved. In general, however, in order to get the disease, you have to transmit a large amount, for example through a blood transfusion “, explained Teodor Bădescu.

“Hepatitis viruses are very resistant,” the doctor added.

The renowned specialist, who heads the Department of Gastroenterology, explained, among other things, in the interview:

– How and why does the liver get tired? What are the effects of modern burnout?
– What are the main factors that lead to liver disease?
– The harmful effect of viral hepatitis on the liver, which infection is more dangerous and how do we find it?
– How do you get infected with liver viruses?
– What diseases lead to cirrhosis and how is a liver transplant done in Sanador?

The show aired on Thursday, July 8, simultaneously on the Facebook pages and YouTube channels of DC News and DC Medical, but also on DC News TV:
