Unions Coordinator, UGT and Kaia y Bilboestiba, on behalf of the stevedoring companies, have reached an agreement to unblock the negotiation of the collective agreement in the dockers’ conflict in the Port of Bilbao, according to what sources from the Ministry of Labor have informed Europa Press, which has mediated to find a solution.
The parties have reached seven points of compromise that will allow the continuity of the negotiating process. The same sources have indicated that this morning the “Roadmap for a Negotiated Solution” was completed in the labor dispute involving stevedores that affected the port of Bilbao.
After more than 55 days of strike by the stevedores and, after two intense days of negotiation, today an agreement has been reached between the parties.
This agreement contemplates the opening of a negotiating table at a sectoral level, with all stevedoring personnel from the territory of Bizkaia constituting its subjective scope.
In the pact, it is stated, in relation to the working day, that companies may require workers to fill in the annual shift by making it available, computed by calendar quarters, to carry out a number of work shifts equivalent to the working days of the month plus two. The maximum annual working day is set at 1,826 hours.
In the area of negotiation of the agreement, the parties will analyze proposals that allow “the reduction of the eventuality.” The parties have agreed that the agreement table to continue negotiating the points included in the agreement will meet within 15 days.
