Dobele ‘Tenax’ handball players win the first match of the second round of the EHF European Cup

On Saturday, Latvian champion team Dobeles “Tenax” won the first match of the second round of the European Handball Federation (EHF) European Cup by three goals.

Dobelnieki beat Czech team Pilsen “Talent” from the Czech Republic with a result of 31:28 (15:13), who will play again on Sunday, the winner of two games advancing to the next round.

Nikita Pančenko and Linards Usāns each scored six goals for the Latvian side, both making eight shots each. North Macedonia handball player Nikola Kosteski scored 11 goals for opponents.

Last season, the Czech team managed to reach the quarter-finals of the EHF European Cup, losing by number of games to Alesa HK from Sweden.

In the previous season, the Dobelniks were knocked out of the EHF European Cup in the third round. In the second round, the team managed to beat Mogilev’s team “Masheka” (22:27 and 34:25) from Belarus in the sum of two games. On the other hand, the opponents of the third round, the Greek team of Thessaloniki AOK, did not win in either of the two games – 24:29 and 25:28.

Last season, the Norwegian club “Naerbo IL” became the winner of the EHF European Cup, which defeated the Romanian team Baja Mares “Minaur” in the final.
