Anyone who has given “the shameful orders” during Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will eventually end up in court, Volodomyr Zelenskyj believes.

At a press conference with dozens of international media on Saturday night, Zelensky was asked whether he wanted Vladimir Putin to stand trial.
– If I want it? It is not that I want it, but all those who have given these shameful orders, they will all be brought before a court. I am convinced of that, says Zelenskyj.
The press conference was an unusual affair: it was held at a metro station.
At one point, he was asked if he was afraid to meet Putin, and had to take a break from answering because a subway passed him and the large press presence of international media.

– No right to be afraid
When Ukrainian and Russian representatives met for talks in Istanbul in late March, three of them developed symptoms of poisoning. Zelensky, however, denies that he is afraid to face Putin.
– I have no right to be afraid because our people have shown that they are not afraid of anything. They are afraid of their children, that’s true. But people stop tanks with their bare hands, he said.
