Kinmont is known mainly for her action roles, which have been associated with her since the beginning of her career. The first film where we could meet Kinmont was the comedy Beautiful Bodies (1984). Thanks to her work on the series Renegade, which was very popular in the nineties, Kinmont met Lorenzo Lamas, with whom she was a married couple from 1989-1993.
