To the attention of all art lovers: come on 02.10.2024 (Wednesday) from 5:30 p.m. to the beautiful building of the former synagogue at 24 “Metropolit Simeon” Street, which today houses the Burgas Art Gallery “Petko Zadgorski” . The favorite Bulgarian artists Prof. Bozhidar Bonchev, Stefan Bozhkov, Kalia Kalcheva, Georgi Minchev and Angela Terzieva will be waiting for you there with an exceptional joint exhibition.
You will be able to look at the displayed artworks and talk to their authors and ask them anything that excites you about their creativity and work.
The event is free entry and everyone is welcome. Come to a meeting with great Bulgarian artists, which will delight anyone with an affinity for art.
Works by Prof. Bozhidar Bonchev are part of private collections all over the world – from the USA, Mexico and Japan, to Switzerland, the Netherlands and China. He is present through his works in the fund of respected institutions representing art in the USA, Finland, Bulgaria. Lecturer at the National Academy of Arts, where he heads the Ceramics department. Winner of numerous awards, including “ESPIOR” from the OB’ART International Art Exhibition, Paris (1991) and “Golden Age”, from the Ministry of Culture, for overall contribution to Bulgarian art (2010)
Associate Professor Georgi Minchev is a teacher in the Department of “Sculpture and Theoretical Disciplines” at the University of Veliko Tarnovo “St. St. Cyril and Methodius”. He works with stone, wood, metal and creates works of impressive size and impact. His sculptures are part of public spaces in Oman, Colombia, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, USA, China, Chile, India, Iran and other countries. He has been awarded many times and part of his biography are a number of solo and participation in general exhibitions around the world and in our country.
The other participants in the exhibition are equally interesting. Angela Terzieva is a young author who graduated first in Icon Painting at the National Art High School “D. Dobrovich”, Sliven, and then Painting at the National Art Gallery. He participates in a number of exhibitions in the country and abroad and has two solo exhibitions. He is the recipient of prestigious awards, among which, from 2024, are the “Petko Zadgorski” BHG Award from the National Biennial Exhibition for Contemporary Bulgarian Art “Friends of the Sea” and the ZOOM Architecture Studio Award from the “Parallel Worlds” exhibition.
Kalia Kalacheva also holds a master’s degree in Painting from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. In 2011 he won the Edmond Demirjian Foundation Young Painter with Promising Development Award, 2014 the Cité des Arts residency program in Paris, France, and 2016 a creative residency at the Oberpfälzer Künstlerhaus in Schwandorf, Germany. 2017 Honored with Special Recognition at the Women in Art Competition in Orlando, Florida. Her paintings are part of the collections of the Hugo Wooten Art Center, Imago Mundi – Luciano Benetton Collection, Italy; National Art Gallery in Sofia, Sofia City Art Gallery and others.
The exhibition is an opening event for the VII Port Prim Art Fest, organized by the Grand Hotel and SPA Primorets. The creative director of the art forum is Stefan Bozhkov. The artist, famous for his magnificent paintings, is the curator of the event and will also show his canvases in the Burgas gallery “Petko Zadgorski”.
Anyone interested will be able to view the works completely free of charge, every day until October 12, 2024 inclusive. To be able to meet their authors, come to the opening!
