Delhi: Indian coach Rahul Dravid responded to the journalist’s question about why the left-handed pacers were not included in the team. When he reached the press conference ahead of the second match of the India-Australia Test series, journalist Chima Kaiyan took up the issue of Pacers. Like Mitchell Starc for Australia and Shaheen Afridi for Pakistan, they have a good height and pace pacer. India had Ashish Nehra and Irfan Pathan. But now the journalist pointed out that there are no pacers in the Indian team who can even afford medicine. But Dravid started replying saying that you have forgotten Zaheer Khan’s name along with Nehrak and Pathan.
Dravid replied that a pacer cannot be included in the team just because he is a pacer, but only on the basis of excellence. Dravid said that Arshdeep Singh excels in white ball cricket as a pacer and is also performing well in the Ranji Trophy. Meanwhile, the journalist interrupted Dravid’s answer and asked the next question. If the right-handed pacers in the team are so good, then how come the batsmen are beating our bowlers like this? To this, Dravid replied, “If you know any six-foot-four inch pacer, tell me.” This is because you mentioned the names of Mitchell Starc and Shaheen Afridi. Dravid said that he has rarely seen pacers in India who are 6 feet 5 inches tall and bowl fast.

We all know that the presence of the left-arm pacer will add variety to the team’s bowling. We are also looking for someone like that. But a bowler cannot be included in the team just because he is a pacer. Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra made it to the team not only because they are fast pacers. Also because of excellence. Dravid said that Arshdeep Singh, Khalil Ahmed and Mukesh Chaudhary are being considered for the team and will try to find better players in the IPL as well.
