The vulnerability was discovered relatively recently, during a recent discovery hacker attacks. They used two undiscovered exploits in the Bluetooth architecture. Using them, hackers are easily able to, among others: decrypt file contents when users send data via Bluetooth.

The vulnerability is said to be present in almost all devices equipped with Bluetooth – from those released at the end of 2014 (version 4.2), up to Bluetooth 5.4 from this year 2023.

The Bluetooth SIG (Bluetooth Special Interest Group) has already issued recommendations for manufacturers, including: recommendation using level four security mode or discarding keys shorter than seven octets.
