A new kind of fraud has also emerged. “A completely new phenomenon is health portals, where a fictional doctor explains how to help against diabetes, cancer, obesity and covid,” explains Jiří Fröhlich, a spokesman for the Trade Inspection Authority.

For example, Petr Kysela from Liberec bought a disinfectant light against bacteria with UV radiation and has been corresponding with the e-shop for half a year.
The inspectorate has already initiated many administrative proceedings. The result will be fines of up to five million. Last year alone, more than 5,600 cheat turned to the inspection.
“We have just surpassed that number. This year, the number of complaints about online sales will be record highs. We appeal to consumers to use common sense not to shop mainly on anonymous websites,” Fröhlich urges caution.
“The Czech Trade Inspection Authority is aware that consumers are often disappointed when shopping online, and therefore, in addition to inspections, it also comes with basic advice for consumers not to fly unnecessarily,” said Mojmír Bezecný, Central Director of the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (CTIA).
It is very important to be careful and avoid e-shops that do not have the contact details or a trusted operator. Therefore, every year the CTIA adds to its list, the complete form of which can be found at www.rizikove.cz, problem stores.
