Do wines and books bring people together?

Nice day!

Do wines bring people together? How come?

On many occasions I have walked by the Railway Museum and my curiosity prompted me to enter but I had not yet. Yesterday I visited the Motor Market, it is located precisely in the Railway Museum, because Violeta from Bodegas Viña Carmina 16 invited me. Violeta and I met this summer at a medieval fair in San Vicente de la Barquera, we talked about wines and books, We reflect on how we sell our creations and agree to meet again in Madrid. I admire your generosity in bringing us your wines from Cantabria so that we can get to know and enjoy them.

He wanted my book “Vinosofía. La radicalidad del vino” and I wanted a vermouth as a gift, it became a barter. By the way, if you want to buy a copy, there are only a few left in paper format, you can buy it at:

BOOK Vinosofía

Do you know the motor market? I recommend it because there is an outdoor space to enjoy a gastronomic offer and you can also find wines, those of Viña Carmina 16, products to delight your palate, clothes… and books.

And I will tell you about books even now. I was thinking of going with my books as I love sharing space with trains. Reading is travelling, trains are books in motion. There I discovered Editorial Narval and spoke with Fernando, editor and founder of Narval. That publishing house crossed my path years ago when Ana Isabel García Vázquez and I had a meeting with Eva, founder of Narval, to collaborate on a book on Philosophy and childhood. I asked about Eva and she told me that she died ten years ago … We talked a bit about books, publishers and bookstores, I also told her that the books I create with the little ones in mind are my son my muse . I gave her a bottle of vermouth from Bodega Viña Carmina 16, intended for the person I’m in love with, and told her to toast Eva. Fernando gave me two books for Libre and we decided to meet again.

I went back to Violeta’s stall and bought the bottle of vermouth I wanted to give as a gift.

Books for wines, wines for books. Yesterday these creations witnessed how people talk and support each other to continue creating delights for minds and palates.

Do you dare to drink a book?

A hug of wine, Carmen Bengoechea Bernal
