While the plan of the operator of a physiotherapy practice to have a total of 17 car parking spaces in his area met with great approval in the Gssenheim municipal council, a neighbor has already announced resistance to the project. “I will hire a lawyer,” the listener announced at the meeting. The reason: the driveway is opposite the entrance to his property, which he fears obstructions.
The streets around the well-frequented physiotherapy practice are often blocked by visitors’ vehicles. Owner Hans-Michael Kaufmann wants to remedy this. He has reached an agreement with two owners of neighboring properties to create 17 parking spaces for his customers’ cars and an area for parking two-man vehicles. The approach is intended to be via Frhlingsstrae.
Careful intervention in the landscape planned
“There will be a gentle intervention in the landscape,” said the client, explaining his plan. Existing trees remain on the property. Another is to be planted.
“An optimal solution,” said Mayor Klaus Schfer in unison with all council members. However, the announcement by the local resident brought one downer. Karsten Heeschen regretted that. “A legal dispute is always expensive, does not help anyone and in the end it just remains anger,” he said. When the municipal council was looking for a solution that was satisfactory for all parties, Heeschen stepped in again. “We have a building application that we should discuss and vote on.” The local council voted unanimously to implement the project. The district office will now examine and ultimately decide on the implementation.
While the District Office promotes extracurricular sport in sports clubs with 13 cents per member unit, the community of Gssenheim has been adding another 25 cents for years. Converted to the 9,642 member units, the only sports club in the community, FC Gssenheim, will receive 2,410.50 euros this year.
Trouble over unkempt sidewalks and streets
The past heavy rain has also left its mark on dirt roads in the community. Mayor Schfer presented a total of four sections of the path with heavy splits at the meeting. The company MK Grmbel has submitted an offer for 13,738 euros for the repair. The mayor now wants to present the project to the meeting of the hunting association, which, as before, should share in the costs. Jonas Herrmann suggested another way that should be inspected and then possibly included in the measures.
Weeds and rubbish on sidewalks and streets in the community area cause trouble again and again. While the majority of the landowners keep the sidewalks and streets in front of their own property clean, some unfortunately refrain from doing so, says Klaus Schfer. Especially people who do not live in Gssenheim neglect their duty to keep things clean, added Erich Fenn. The community should write to them so that if they cannot meet the obligation themselves, another person should be commissioned to do so.
From October 7th to 10th, the community is going on an information trip to Brussels. Interested parties can still register with Mayor Klaus Schfer.
