The warning of the Saudi Ministry of Religious Affairs comes with only a few days left for holy Ramadan. The ministry has instructed mosque imams and muadhins not to organize iftar or otherwise collect money from the faithful during Ramadan. This proposal is to prevent illegal transactions. Only government approved means should be adopted to collect and spend Iftar funds. Earlier, the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a warning to foreigners who collect money illegally during Ramadan and those who provide financial aid through other than legal channels.

At the same time, the Saudi ruler King Salman ordered to distribute 1 million copies of the Holy Quran printed in Saudi Arabia to foreign countries during Ramadan. The Holy Quran translated into 76 languages will be distributed in 22 countries.
