“It is very important to talk about the restoration of sports infrastructure in our new regions. The total amount of funding is 3.2 billion rubles; by the end of the year, about 50 different facilities will be created and restored, 150 physical education and sports institutions will be equipped with equipment. This year, 750 trainers and specialists have already improved their qualifications according to Russian standards. The “Commonwealth” football league was created, uniting 10 clubs from new regions. The qualifying matches have begun, the championship will start in March 2024,” Chernyshenko said.
Four new regions became part of the Russian Federation on September 30, 2022. On October 5, 2022, President Vladimir Putin signed federal laws ratifying the admission of these regions into the country.
This season, the Crimean clubs Sevastopol and Yalta Rubin made their debut in the Second League. “Sevastopol” takes fourth place in the first subgroup of division B, “Rubin” is third.
