Dmitry Rogozin, former deputy prime minister of the Russian government and head of Roscosmos, and Vitaly Khotsenko, head of government of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, were injured on Wednesday night when Donetsk was bombed, the BBC reported.
As Rogozin and Khotsenko’s entourage assure, there is no danger to their lives. Rogozin himself told Russia’s state broadcaster RT that he was wounded in the back by shrapnel. According to him, the shrapnel entered within an inch of his spine.
“I will live,” assured Rogozin, who, according to official data, leads a group of military advisers in the Donbass – the “Tsarske Wolves,” reports news.bg.
The Baza publication reports that, according to its data, Rogozin received a soft tissue shrapnel wound in the head, a penetrating shrapnel wound in the buttock and a penetrating shrapnel wound in the left thigh.
According to still unconfirmed data, as a result of this shooting there were deaths and several people were injured.
According to reports from the scene, Rogozin and Khotsenko were injured in the Shesh-Besh restaurant, where Rogozin was celebrating his birthday (he turned 59 on Wednesday).
An aide to Dmitry Rogozin told Interfax that he had been hospitalized. Rogozin and his assistant talk about the bombing of the hotel where they were staying, but not the restaurant.
