The General Assembly of the German Football League in Wiesbaden decided on a multi-stage model. From the 2023/24 season, for example, minimum criteria must be proven. Critics say the resolutions don’t go far enough. For example, practices such as undersoil heating, floodlights during the day for better television pictures, trips to games by plane and team bus just to get to the stadium and hundreds of thousands of car trips by fans and their often one-sided consumption of meat products such as sausages are criticized.

In addition, the professional clubs decided to demonstrate a code of conduct for all employees. It is about a clear demarcation from any kind of discrimination and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
