Speculation about a new expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been confirmed. Ubisoft has officially announced a new DLC, this time with the subtitle Dawn of Ragnarök. It will contain new characters and an area that will be about a third larger than the map of England in the main game. Then we will not play for Eivor, but for Odin, the Norse god of battle and wisdom. The expansion will be released on March 10 next year and the game time is estimated at 35 hours.
How exactly do we jump from Eivor, what would the main characters, to Odin? Eivor drinks a potion that gives him a vision of becoming an Odin and embarks on a mission to save his son Baldr. The road takes him to Svartalfheim, a kingdom inhabited by dwarves that is currently under invasion. The dwarves are therefore hiding beneath the surface of Svartalfheim, so the player must also explore the underground spaces of the kingdom. Only with the help of the dwarves will Odin be able to find and save Baldra. During the search, he will also have to face new enemies, such as “Muspels”, fiery “Flame Keepers” or indestructible fire giants.
Players can also gain new abilities, thanks to Hugr-Rip, a bracelet given to Odin by the dwarves. When a player defeats an enemy, he can take his abilities. These include the ability to turn into a raven, to inflate weapons with ice, to use a bow to teleport to distant places, or to resurrect dead enemies to fight by Odin’s side. There is also a new battle arena in which players can take on the challenge of a valkyrie and fight a number of enemies for a reward.
Another new feature is a free upgrade for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Odyssey. It will be available tomorrow, December 14, and will offer a combination of both timelines. The main characters of the games Odyssey and Valhalla, therefore Cassandra and Eivor, meet face to face. The update includes a new task in both Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, where the meeting of the two characters will be a playable task. “Assassin’s Creed content brings together characters, lore, places, epochs, motivations and more. We had so much fun imagining how interesting it would be to meet the two protagonists of the Assassin’s Creed series that we might want to explore new paths in the future. ” said Clémence Nogrix, Deputy Creative Director of Ubisoft Quebec.
