Jakarta –
DKI Jakarta Provincial Government still maintain key performance indicator (KPI) the flood receded within 6 hours. DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary (Sekda) Joko Agus said that in principle, KPI can be used as a benchmark in handling floods.
“This KPI is of course our benchmark as well. Yes, if the previous administration said 6 hours recede, we will try,” said Joko after inspecting the Manggarai Watergate in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/3/2023).
Joko then explained the cause of water inundation at a number of points due to high rainfall. Plus the duration of the rain is quite long.
“We all feel that maybe 10 days back, yes, we almost rained 24 hours a day. Even when we go to work, it’s amazing how we can get to the office quickly,” he explained.
However, Joko stated that the current flood prevention program was quite successful. This, according to him, can be seen from the status of the Manggarai sluice gate which is still on alert 4 or normal in conditions of heavy rain.
“You can see the indicators behind us. Today we are still below normal. This means that our flood prevention program can be said to be successful,” he said.
“This is thanks to the directions and orders from the Acting Governor, he doesn’t talk much, but we are asked to work together with him continuously,” he continued.
Apart from that, Joko also believes that the existence of the Ciawi and Sukamahi Dams and the river dredging program will have an effect on reducing floods in Jakarta. In the future, his party will seek to accelerate the normalization of the Ciliwung River so that flood handling can run optimally.
“You can feel it, almost no area in Jakarta is inundated. Even if there is another puddle it’s because the rains are coming again. We can see that,” he added.
As is well known, the KPI for floods recedes 6 hours after the rain stops. It has been implemented since 2018 during the reign of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. In addition to 6 hours of receding, Anies also targets zero fatalities due to flooding.
