Realitarakyat.com – The Association of Indonesian Public Health Promoters and Educators (PPPKMI) DKI Jakarta educates millennials about being aware of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“PPPKMI DKI Jakarta Provincial Administration took the initiative to help the government to mobilize and cultivate the healthy living community movement (Germas) in preventing dengue transmission,” said the General Chairperson of DKI Jakarta PPPKMI, Mery Aderita in a webinar entitled “Intelligent Education and Response to Dengue Fever During the COVID Pandemic. -19” which was held virtually followed in Bogor, Sunday (12/12).
According to him, dengue fever and the corona virus are two diseases that can cause confusion. This is because the symptoms of dengue fever, such as headaches, joint and muscle pain, also occur in COVID-19 patients.
Mary mentioned that public awareness to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 by complying with health protocols began to increase. However, awareness of eradicating mosquito nests, which are the transmission factors for dengue fever, is still weak.
“Therefore, the promotion and cultivation of healthy living must continue to be encouraged,” said Mary.
He hopes that millennials can anticipate these two diseases starting from their respective environments. He emphasized that environmental hygiene and good sanitation are the highest determining factors in improving the health status of the community.
“It is known that young people can help solve problems that exist in the environment such as dengue and become the front line in preventing dengue and become larva monitoring cadres at home or family (self jumantik) and at school,” he said.
The webinar was opened by the Head of Disease Prevention and Management of the DKI Jakarta Health Office, Dr. Dwi Oktavia TLH, M. Epid. and filled with resource persons, Risang Rimbatmaja, Ecep Setiadi, and Novia Nuraini.
It was recorded that 299 participants from cross-sectoral circles, Youth Organizations, and Saka Bhakti Husada throughout DKI Jakarta attended the webinar.
