DKI Jakarta Reports 28 Positive Monkey Pox Cases – Latest Updates and Information

DKI Jakarta continues to report additional positive cases monkey pox (mpox) in the region. The DKI Jakarta Health Service noted that currently positive cases of mpox have reached 28 people. Wow, it’s not dangerous, is it?

Information regarding additional positive cases of mpox can be accessed via the official website of the DKI Jakarta Health Service, surveilans-dinkes.jakarta.go.id. The latest data was updated on Friday, November 3 2023, at 19.00 WIB. DKI recorded an additional one positive case compared to Thursday (2/11).

“Update on Mpox Domicile DKI Jakarta as of November 3 2023 at 19.00: total positive cases 28 people,” according to the information accessed detikcomSaturday (4/11/2023).

Positivity Rate 29%

The DKI Health Office detailed that of the 28 cases reported, 27 were active cases with a positivity rate or the proportion of positive people from all cases tested reaching 29 percent.

Positivity rate is a comparison between the number of positive cases of COVID-19 and the number of tests carried out. All cases were reported to be infected through sexual contact and were contracted by men.

“There are 27 active positive cases, the PCR positivity rate is 29 percent, all have mild symptoms, all were infected from sexual contact, all men aged 25-50 years,” he explained.

Apart from that, the DKI Health Office reported that as many as eight people were suspects or suspected cases of monkey pox. A person is a suspect if they show symptoms and are waiting for the PCR test results.

“Four people are suspected or suspected of having symptoms,” he explained.

On the other hand, as many as 67 people who were previously suspected of PCR results have been declared negative. The Health Department is also monitoring nine close contacts of positive cases who have no symptoms.

The DKI Health Office has started monkeypox vaccination for vulnerable groups. Currently, 495 people have been vaccinated.

“The total number of vaccination recipients is 495 people out of the target of 495 people,” he said.
