Kastara.ID, Jakarta – The DKI Jakarta Provincial Aids Management Commission (KPAP) held a socialization to increase HIV understanding at the Central Jakarta Library and Archives (Pusip) Sub-department Office.
This comprehensive socialization was attended by dozens of athletes from the DKI Jakarta Student Sports Training Center (PPOP).
Head of the DKI Jakarta KPAP Promotion and Prevention Division, Taufik Alief Fuad, said that this socialization aims to provide understanding to athletes under the auspices of the DKI Jakarta Youth and Sports Service (Dispora) about the spread and prevention efforts of HIV AIDS. This also includes eliminating the negative stigma for people living with HIV/Aids (PLHIV) in society.
“This outreach targets 30 PPOP athletes from various sports,” he said, Sunday (24/12).
Taufik hopes that in the future these athletes will become volunteers in spreading information about HIV treatment and erasing the negative stigma in society towards PLHIV. So that the target of an Aids-free Jakarta by 2027 can be achieved.
“Hopefully this activity will be useful in increasing athletes’ insight and awareness of the HIV virus,” he hoped.
Head of the DKI Jakarta Youth and Sports Department, Joko Margosantoso, added that this socialization activity was very well attended by the athletes.
He hopes that, after participating in this activity, the athletes will have the knowledge and understanding of HIV so they can participate in preventing the transmission of the disease from an early age.
“Hopefully in the future, activities like this can continue to be carried out intensively,” he said. (hop)
