Recently, cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD) have increased. Such conditions must be immediately anticipated by the DKI Provincial Government through the Health Service.
Responding to this, Deputy Chairperson of Commission E DPRD DKI Jakarta Elva Farhi Qolbina asked the Health Service to conduct an epidemiological investigation.
This is an effort to prevent and transmit cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF). Remember, these cases increased rapidly at the beginning of the year, namely 627 cases from the beginning of January to February 19 2024.

Epidemiological investigation is a tracing activity for dengue fever sufferers carried out by health workers after finding cases or obtaining information from the public and hospitals regarding the presence of dengue sufferers.
“The Health Department needs to carry out epidemiological investigations to prevent an increase in dengue cases and actively educate the public about dengue prevention,” said Elva when contacted, Wednesday (13/3).
Identification or mapping of areas where dengue cases are spread is also very necessary to determine steps to suppress cases in those areas.
Meanwhile, for treatment readiness, he asked the Health Service to provide sufficient health facilities (faskes) to accommodate dengue fever patients, such as the availability of beds, medical equipment and medical personnel so that patients can be treated quickly.
“I encourage the Health Department to ensure that health facilities in hospitals and community health centers are adequate,” he said.
He also appealed to the public to increase awareness by taking precautions such as cleaning places that have the potential to become mosquito nests, and actively reporting if there are residents in the area who are confirmed to have dengue fever.
“I appeal to residents to increase awareness about preventing dengue fever in the home environment,” he said.
Of the total cases in DKI Jakarta, 208 cases were in West Jakarta, 161 cases in East Jakarta, 145 cases in South Jakarta, 74 cases in North Jakarta, 34 cases in Central Jakarta and 5 cases in the Seribu Islands. (DDJP/yla/gie)
