The DKI Jakarta Health Office said there were a number of factors that influenced the increase in COVID-19 cases in the capital. One of them is the loosening of the implementation of the COVID-19 health protocol in the community.

“Multifactory, starting from a lot of people who have been doing mobility, loosening the discipline of health care,” said the Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the DKI Jakarta Health Office Dwi Oktavia when confirmed, Sunday (12/6/2022).

Dwi gave an example, nowadays people are used to taking off masks when they are in open spaces. This habit, he said, was carried away when he was indoors.

“Unbeknownst to them, when they were indoors, many people began to open their masks, thinking that COVID-19 was gone,” he said.

Another factor is the decreased immunity, especially for people who delay the third or booster vaccination.

“And the level of immunity (antibodies) began to decline in people who had complete vaccines but delayed boosters,” he said.

Dwi then appealed to the public not to relax the COVID-19 process. Given, the Corona virus pandemic is still spreading in Indonesia.

“So we need to be reminded together to be aware that COVID is still there, and follow the prokes,” he added.
