DKDF Festival: A Free Family Festival with Electro Heavyweights and Local DJs at Fort de Tourneville in Le Havre

A musical, friendly and totally free family festival, this is what the DKDF Festival offers you for its 5th edition at the Fort de Tourneville in Le Havre, this weekend of August 19 and 20. Electro heavyweights will rub shoulders with DJs from the region, on a site that also gives pride of place to the plastic arts.

DKDF Festival, four capital consonants for a beautiful state of mind: “Der Klang Der Familie” or the sound of the family. A family that brings together musicians and visual artists, and which was born 10 years ago at Fort de Tourneville, rue du 329ᵉ Régiment d’Infanterie.
Today the “329” is also the association that organizes all kinds of events around electronic music in Le Havre, and for 5 years the DKDF Festival.

The sound of family

The DKDF Festival offers a program focused on electronic music, but also artistic workshops to present the abundant creation of the Fort de Tourneville.
The aim of the festival is to bring together all the people we have worked with! DKDF is bringing together all the artists of different musical styles that we have met during all these years: that’s the sound of the family !”, explains Diane Gaignoux, visual artist and non-musical programmer at the festival, “now the family has grown and the festival is also becoming a village where you can discover lots of great local initiatives that are important to us to promote“.
The artists programmed are local, regional and national. Some, like Zadig et Celine Technorama, are big names in electronic music and play all over the world. Others are local DJs that the 329 association has supported for several years, such as Masta Moons. On the program, therefore, techno and electro, but also world music and funk.

Last year, we had 2500 visitors over the two days of the festival. In addition to the discovery of the musical artists that we program, the event made it possible to communicate on the visual artists present at the Fort de Tourneville and the various activities that can be found there throughout the year. It has thus contributed to a real social bond, by allowing various backgrounds to meet within the same proposal. Indeed, the festival that we are initiating touches the inhabitants of the district as much as families, or lovers of music and art” continues Diane Gaignoux of the association 329.

This year, we will also have visual artists from the Fort de Tourneville, such as Alexandre Lebourgeoiswho will give artistic practice workshops” continue Diane Gaignoux.
The association also seeks to put Le Havre talent center stage. This is how a collaboration with Le Havrais Beer gave birth to the festival beer, “La DKDF”.
L’association The attic also provided reused T-shirts to customize, while Emmaüs supplied the festival boxes with furniture.
Yoga, hypnosis, photography workshop, petanque, a whole host of activities will also be offered between two concerts. And two food-trucks will complete the decor to restore you.
Last year, 2500 people took part in the DKDF Festival. After five years of existence, the organizers are counting on an increase in attendance.
