Several times pyrotechnic pieces flashed in Djurgården’s stands during the away match against Södertälje.

Then the referee took the players off the ice – and then the police decided to empty the stands.

– It is frankly deplorable, says expert Johan Tornberg in TV4 Play.

It was after Djurgården took the lead that the players were taken back to the changing rooms.

– This is the second or third time there are pyrotechnics, so we cancel, says judge Daniel Wessner in TV4 Play.

The secretariat called a match meeting with the referees and match delegates.

Wessner says there’s no telling how far away a drop might be.

– Only that it’s terribly boring. It’s a hockey party and some people are going to ruin it with something like this.

Emptying the arena

After a ten-minute interruption, the police came with the message:

– We will empty the stands for everyone, unfortunately. The match will not be resumed as long as there is an audience in the arena, it sounded in Scaniarinken’s public address system.

Discarded garbage cans

On the way out, the majority of supporters showed their dissatisfaction with the announcement.

Some threw both trash cans and tables around.

Johan Tornberg thinks that the scenes of chaos must have consequences.

– We have to find a way to make supporters understand. If you come in and make pies, your own team will suffer a loss, he says.

The match was resumed

After a break of just over an hour, the match started at 20.10.

Then the sold-out arena was empty.

– It’s a shame that it’s like this, because these are the matches you really want to play with such a great atmosphere, says SSK coach Magnus Bogren.

Djurgården’s ditto Michael Holmqvist agrees.

– Of course it’s boring, he says.
