Djurgården hosts Norwegian Viking Stavanger at home at Tele2 Arena.
The Norwegians were outnumbered this Saturday afternoon.
Djurgården hopes to reverse the pre-season’s negative trend when Norwegian Viking came to visit. Unfortunately, it was not enough as the final result was 3-1 to the Norwegian club.
In Djurgården, the new acquisition Deniz Hümmet stepped in from the start. The Stockholm club also had a pair of brothers on the pitch in Lucas and Theo Bergvall.
The first half offered several opportunities from both teams. However, neither team could take advantage of their opportunities.
For Djurgården, the game was not quite right in the first half, and in Discovery+ it was described as “choppy”.
The score at half time is 0–0.
In the second half, Djurgården made a change. Deniz Hümmet was replaced and in came Musa Gurbanli.
Viking later scored 1-0 against Djurgården, in the 60th minute of the match. The goal came after several dangerous chances for the guests.
2-0 to Viking, shortly after the first goal. Djurgården had a difficult time finding the right match against the guests.
It was later a Djurgården that changed the pace. They pushed the Norwegians down low, who, however, defended the goal with gusto.
Besard Sabovic made it 1-2 a few minutes later, via a shot from the penalty area line. The goalkeeper in Viking vsr the ball but did not manage to steer the ball away.
With a minute left, Viking made it 3-1 from the penalty spot.
That was also the end result.
Overall, a weak effort from Djurgården, which had difficulty maintaining a consistent level.
