Djurgården have put themselves in a difficult position in the Allsvenskan final.
Despite a better effort to play in the second game, they still fell.
The season has been up and down, but they still reach the final.
During the break, former coach Leif Boork visited the TV4 studio, and then realized that Djurgården had lost its identity.
– I think that Djurgården has lost its identity. It probably has to do with things both on and off the ice. The physical play, the confidence, and they lose young players very early in Stockholm who usually go to other clubs in Stockholm, says Leif Boork.
Djurgården team captain Marcus Krüger does not have a direct answer to the criticism from Boork, but he says that the team knows what they have to do in the games.
– We are playing against an opponent too. But we can certainly make things better, says Krüger.
Have you lost your identity?
– I don’t know if we have that. We know what to do.
Djurgården is whipped to win at Hovet
Now Djurgården need to win a game to enter the game series.
Marcus Krüger sees bright spots in the game, but also things that can be improved.
– We play a little better today. But a little more is needed, he says.
What was better today?
– First especially. They come out strong, but they fit better today. We get them involved in our press game a little more often. It was something we talked about before.
How do you feel in third place when they manage to turn this around?
– We prefer to play in their area. We get a power play and then I would like us to do better and close the game. We have a few chances, but don’t take them in, but maybe we don’t deserve it either, says Marcus Krüger and he also criticizes the team’s power play in the third period, when they had the chance.
– We are not satisfied with that. We must take advantage of the opportunities.
What do you need better for your home game?
– Special teams need to be better. We talk about it, but our pressing game can be better so we don’t have to face five men all the time. We have to be sharper and step forward, says the Djurgården team captain.
