Djurgården prepares for the playoffs.
John Dahlström, 27, is recruited from Oskarshamn.
– A versatile forward, who has been productive at times at SHL level, says sports manager KG Stoppel.
John Dahlström has been under the fish sticks in Oskarshamn’s freezer this season. The forward has been training on his own while waiting to find a new club and now he is moving to the third place in the Hockey Allsvenskan table.
“Hard-working”
Dahlström usually averages a handful of goals per season in the SHL, but he scored 16 goals in the 2020/2021 season for Oskarshamn.
– In addition, he is a hard-working and competitive player who likes to get in on goal, says Djurgården’s sporting director KG Stoppel to the club’s website.
Was loaned to Växjö
During the JVM in Gothenburg around New Year, John Dahlström had to play his first matches of the season when he was loaned to Växjö. There were six games and one goal.
Last week, Djurgården launched a fundraiser approaching SEK 1.5 million. The goal is to strengthen the team building with a back and a forward before the final sprint of the spring – and now they are bringing in John Dahlström.
The contract is written until the end of the season and he joins immediately.
