Djurgården in a new light – current book guides to the district’s memorial landscape

On April 26, the anthology “Look there! A guide to Djurgården’s memory landscape” will be released, where twelve ethnologists and cultural historians let us see Djurgården with new eyes.

Look at that! A guide to Djurgården’s memorial landscape. Stockholmia publishing house, 2024.

By approaching the National City Park from different angles and exposing its many layers of time, the authors want to inspire readers to find their own paths through the place’s culturally dense surroundings.

The editors are Mattias Frihammar, Simon Ekström and Lars Kaijser from the Department of Ethnology, History of Religions and Gender Studies at Stockholm University.

Other participants are Mats Hellspong, Lotten Gustafsson Reinius, Cecilia Hammarlund, Mirja Arnshav, Maja Lagerqvist, Annika Strandin Pers, Elin Franzén, Anders Telenius and Maria Bäckman.

The book is published by Stockholmia publishing house.

Book release 26/4 at 8-9.30am
