DJs 3FM locked up in the Glass House

After a three-year hiatus, 3FM’s Glass House is back in the picture. Four disc jockeys from the station have been locked up and will be campaigning for the coming week under the title Serious Request.

Sander Hoogendoorn, Frank van der Lende, Jorien Renkema and Rob Janssen play records that the listeners request for a fee. The proceeds of the action are used to protect the tropical rainforest.

It is the first time since 2017 that the Glass House is used again by 3FM. For the past three years, the DJs have been running around the country with a Lifeline to raise money.

Those campaigns were not nearly as successful as in the heyday of the Glass House. In the record year of 2013, 12.3 million euros was raised, last year it was no more than 1.6 million.

The Glass House is located in Amersfoort this year. Unlike previous editions, it is not located in the center of a city, but in a closed area. Thousands of people are allowed on the site at the same time. Also different is that the DJs are allowed to eat this week.

There are bands and artists performing from the Prodentfabriek this week, but without an audience. The program includes names such as Typhoon, S10, Son Mieux, MEAU, Jeangu Macrooy and Tim Knol.
