The tennis world number one Novak Djokovic reached the final at the Western & Southern Open in New York on Friday evening (local time).

The Serbian won in the semifinals against Roberto Bautista Agut (Spain) after three hours 4: 6, 6: 4, 7: 6 (7: 0) and meets Milos Raonic in the final. The Canadian beat Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) 7: 6 (7: 5), 6: 3 in the first semi-final.

“To be honest, I don’t know how I won. Roberto was the better player today. I didn’t feel good physically or in my game, but I managed to get over it, ”said Djokovic, who struggled with stomach and neck problems during the game.

The Serb remains undefeated this year. For Djokovic it was the 22nd victory in a row. Success in the final against Raonic would mean the 33-year-old’s 35th Masters title. This would draw him level with record holder Rafael Nadal (Spain).

Djokovic had previously beaten Tennys Sandgren from the USA in the round of 16 (6: 2, 6: 4) and then in the quarter-finals for Jan-Lennard Struff (Germany) (6: 3, 6: 1).
