Djokovic has arrived in Dubai

The Dubai Duty Free tournament, which Djokovic won in 2020, does not start until February 14.

World number one Djokovic is defending his title at the Australian Open, which starts on Monday. However, the Serb’s hopes of participating in this year’s tournament were extinguished when an Australian court confirmed the Serb’s visa refusal on Sunday, and he left the country by plane a few hours later.

The 34-year-old stated on Sunday that he will use the near future to calm down.

Djokovic has not been vaccinated, but went to Australia after receiving what he thought was a medical exemption from the vaccine requirement. Australian authorities, for their part, claim that he inspires vaccine resistance and therefore had to be expelled.

Djokovic tested positive for covid-19 on December 16 last year. He admits to having made a “misjudgment” when he appeared for an interview with a French journalist while he was corona infected.
