With a total weight of 249 grams, anyone who wants to fly the DJI Mini 3 and record video in 4K/30fps can do it. The drone is a simpler version of Mini 3 Prowith a longer flight time than both it and the previous edition called Mini 2.
The flight time is claimed to be 38 minutes and the Mini 3 has a 12 megapixel camera with a 1/1.3-inch eb CMOS image chip and an f/1.7 aperture for the maximum possible incidence of light. The camera has HDR recording and can create 48Mp still image files from the 12Mp image chip.
An interesting detail is the ability to rotate the cameras by 90 degrees: True Vertical Shooting, which provides photos and videos in a height format that is widely used on social media.
The video stream is sent with DJI’s well-known O2 video transmission, which transmits a live 720p/30fps feed up to 10 kilometers away, to the drone operator.
The drone also has QuickShots which you can activate in the app or on the RC remote screen in the image above. Dronie, for example, changes height as the camera focuses on subjects, while the drone flies in a spiral around the point of focus if you choose Helix, and if you choose Boomerang the drone flies in an oval around the subject and rises as slowly walks away.
The Mini 3 comes in various configurations and the simplest is simply a Mini 3 with nothing extra. One price increase and the DHI RC-N1 remote control is included in the package and, as always, the best equipped packages are the Fly More Combos:
