The singer and composer Djavan was honored this Saturday, 28th, at Caldeirão do Mion. This was the first time that the program led by Marcos Mion has dedicated an entire edition to a single artist, as is the case with another TV Globo attraction, Altas Horas.

Djavan sang his main career hits, including Eu Te Devoro, Lilás and Se. In the audience, names like Lília Cabral, Claudia Ohana, Diogo Almeida, Xande de Pilares, Alexandre Borges, Lucy Alves, Dira Paes, Mart’nália, Paulo Lessa, Marvvila, Juliana Alves, and Banda Melim watched the recording of the program.

Big names in MPB sent messages that were displayed on a big screen. One of them is Caetano Veloso, whom Djavan cited in the lyrics of the song Sina, inventing the verb ‘caetanear’. Maria Bethânia also sent her message. From the composer, Bethânia recorded, among others, the song Álibi, which gave the name to her 1978 album, one of the biggest hits of her career.

On stage, Djavan said that the tribute was “one of the most brilliant afternoons” he had experienced in his life and revealed why he doesn’t usually appear on many television programs.

“I had never been to Caldeirão and it was an immeasurable gift. I was ‘very apprehensive’. Every time I go to do television, I am, but this time I was ten times more, because of the content of the program. I was very happy, I think they did a wonderful deal. I felt extremely honored to have participated in such a special afternoon”, he said.

According to TV Globo’s schedule, this Saturday’s Caldeirão de Mion is scheduled to start at 3:50 pm.
