Django Warmerdam will most likely be the third reinforcement of Sparta Rotterdam with a view to next season. The left back comes over transfer-free from FC Utrecht, reports Football International.
The 27-year-old Warmerdam will be medically examined at Sparta on Thursday, it sounds like. If no physical problems are found there, the wing defender will succeed Mica Pinto. The latter, who is having a good season at Het Kasteel, did not reach an agreement with Sparta during the contract negotiations. As a result, he will leave after this season.
Warmerdam, who settled with Utrecht in 2020, only played six league games for the Domstedelingen this season. He started as a basic player, but suffered a serious injury in October. He will probably not play again this season, although his rehabilitation is almost over.
Warmerdam is already the third addition to the team of trainer Maurice Steijn. The club has already strengthened itself with Saïd Bakari and Pelle Clement, who will come over from RKC Waalwijk after this season.
