Multiple winner of the Golden Radio Ring for Best Program, Rob van Someren, is moving from Radio 10 to 100% NL. Starting this fall, he will be hosting the program Somertijd (again) every day between 4:00 and 7:00 PM, with his regular sidekicks.
Van Someren comes over from Radio 10. Van Someren’s relationship with parent company Talpa Network is turbulent to say the least. For example, there was a lawsuit about salary. Van Someren stated that he was entitled to a higher salary than he received and that agreements had been made that were not fulfilled. The judge agreed with him in this case and ordered Talpa to pay a considerable amount of salary arrears and a salary increase.
After his success in court over his salary, Van Someren was moved to a weekend program. He thought this was an unfair measure and stated that it was related to the lawsuit he had won. Talpa denied this and stated that the move was a purely programmatic decision. The judge ruled in a preliminary judgment that Van Someren was right, but that it was first up to the two parties to come to an agreement. That eventually worked, or at least: that seemed to be the case. It is not clear whether both cases have anything to do with Van Someren’s transfer.
Summertime
Together with Van Someren, his team members will also be coming to 100% NL. Sidekicks and producers Sven van Veen and Lex Landeweerd and newsreader Chantal Quak can also be heard on the radio station from this fall. The familiar characters of voice artist Dingetje will also be coming along with the furnishings.

Since his start at Radio Decibel in 1980, Rob van Someren has been an indispensable part of the Dutch radio landscape. He was heard on Radio 10, 3FM and Radio Veronica, among others. With his program Somertijd, which has been on air since 1992, he won the Golden Radio Ring for Best Program twice. He was also awarded the title of best presenter twice.
