Diwali, a party to make the light shine all over Guadeloupe

The Hindu community is currently celebrating Diwali, otherwise known as Dipavali, the festival of lights and the victory of good over evil. A celebration that brings together many inhabitants of Guadeloupe, in particular the descendants of the natives of India who perpetuate this religious tradition and would even like to make it an event that brings together all the Guadalupians

A few minutes before the start of the festivities that will transform one of the town squares of Le Moule into the main place for the commemoration of the victory of Good over Evil, Diwali “दिवाली”.

A place that will be flooded with light to demonstrate this triumph of the Good. For Jérôme Nagapin, son of a pujari who is behind the maintenance of this Hindu tradition, it is now a question of making it public so that it is open to all Guadalupians.

At the same time, part of the ceremony takes place inside the temple itself. It is here that the sacred is pronounced and the invocation of the deities related to this Diwali festival takes place.

Tonight, on this mandala designed on the ground to generate good wishes, all those who come to this Place de la Liberté in Le Moule will carry a light in their hands, thus signifying the fraternity that must reign among all and all of Guadeloupe.
