In the AFL Divisions 3 & 4, the decisions about entering the playoffs were already made last weekend. In Division 2 there are still games on the program on October 16 and 17, which will decide on the last two playoff spots in this division. All dates and results at gameday.football.at.
Division 2 – Enthroners and Hammers against?
With the Fehervar Enthroners and the Schwaz Hammers, two teams are already in the playoffs as leaders in the respective conference. The decision of who the teams will receive in the playoffs will be made at the weekend. For the Enthroners it is either against the Upper Styrian Rhinos or against the US Cars Peicher Styrian Hurricanes. In the last game of the regular season, the Rhinos have to win against leaders Schwaz Hammers to maintain second place. If the Rhinos lose, the Hurricanes finish the regular season in second place due to the better record from the direct duels. The Schwaz Hammers will receive either the Danube Dragons 2 or the Vienna Warlords in Tyrol in the playoffs. The two teams from Vienna will meet in a face-to-face duel on October 17th. The Dragons currently occupy second place with a record of 3: 2, the Warlords third place with 2: 3. If the Dragons win, nothing changes in the table situation. In order to overtake the Dragons, the warlords not only have to win, but also turn the point difference from the direct duel against the Dragons from -7 to at least +1. A victory with at least 8 points difference is the goal of the warlords.
Division 3 – Gladiators vs. Reavers und Legionaries vs. Rams
With the away win of the Gmunden Rams over the Carinthian Eagles, the last playoff decision was also made in Division 3. The Rams secured the semi-finals at the Carnuntum Legionaries. The Lower Austrians lost their last game against the Styrian Reavers, but that didn’t push them off the conference throne. For the Styrian Reavers, the runner-up is against the UAFC Monobunt Gladiators Ried. This game is already scheduled for October 23 at 2 p.m. in the Colloseum Noricum.
Division 4 – Huskies vs. Mustangs und Blackvalley Wild vs. ?
The three-way battle for a place in the playoffs in Conference B of Division 4. The Dacia Vikings 3 surprisingly lost against the Klosterneuburg Broncos, who celebrated their first and only win of the season in the last game. The simultaneous victory of the Ebenfurth Mustangs over leaders Blackvalley Wild pushed the Vikings back to 3rd place. Blackvalley Wild and Ebenfurth Mustangs are in their first season directly in the playoffs. Above all, however, are the Huskies Wels, who impressively won Conference A 6-0. In the last game of the regular season, the Mostviertel Bastards will meet the BSK Ravens. If the bastards win with a difference of +20 points, they can still make the playoff entry.
The first semi-final of the Huskies Wels against the Ebenfurth Mustangs in the Huskies Arena Wels is already scheduled for October 24th at 2 p.m. The date for the second semi-final between the Blackvalley Wild and the BSK Ravens or Mostviertel Bastards is still being set.
