“Old chimneys are lit / we are washing the shirts,” he sings Ricardo Mollo in the first stanzas of “San Saltarín”, a new preview of the next album by Divided. The theme appeared on the platforms last weekend and this Tuesday they released the video clip, starring Stephen Bigliardi y Pilar Gamboa. This is his first video clip in more than two decades and, therefore, the first with the drummer Catriel Ciavarella.
Directed by Nahuel Lerena, an old acquaintance of the band -remembered for his work in “Cajita musical” (2002), one of Divididos’ most great video clips-, presents a dream trip through the head of a film projectionist who seems to come from another era ( played by Bigliardi) and who, through a spell, ends up turning into a jumping giant. “The steamroller invokes the holy fool of optimism and joy in such difficult times,” they had announced in a press release.
The trio is the protagonist of the film that becomes the man in full trip. He can be seen playing in the middle of the desert and then on top of a building in Buenos Aires. And, later, taking off the musician’s costume to act as a cleaning staff at the cinema, in a quite convincing performance.
«San Saltarín», a song that bears the characteristic seal of the band and that in turn evokes the years of Sumowas recorded at the beginning of the year in the Divided and in studio La Calandria. Mixing was done by facundo rodriguez and mastered it Neil Pickles in London. The song is also a new cut from the band’s long-awaited album, the first with new songs in 13 years.
On the other hand, there are no more tickets left for what will be their presentation on May 13 in Vélez Sarsfield, almost 30 years after the concert they performed in that same stadium as part of the presentation. The era of stupidity (1993).
