‘Divided Health Council wants to prolong AstraZeneca injection stop’ | Inland

After the earlier injection stop, Minister De Jonge was accused of not having properly consulted science. That is why the minister has now asked the Health Council for urgent advice. But the draft opinion, on which the Council has to make a final decision tonight, states that it is better not to take any risks.

In order not to damage confidence in vaccination in general, the Netherlands must for the time being refrain from giving people under the age of 60 the AstraZeneca vaccine. There is division about this in the Health Council itself.

The Medicines Evaluation Board spoke out on Wednesday about the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine:
