(ANSA) – COLLE VAL D’ELSA, 31 AUG – A 31-year-old Italian tourist dived into the river and never resurfaced, and her lifeless body was found and pulled from the water by firefighter divers. This is what happened this afternoon in the Diborrato river park in the San Marziale area of ​​Colle Val d’Elsa (Siena). Another 30-year-old woman was rescued after being in difficulty in the water and handed over to paramedics; her life is not in danger. The Carabinieri and the municipal police of Colle Val d’Elsa are on site to reconstruct the dynamics of what happened, as well as the Misericordia of Colle Val d’Elsa. “Deep condolences” for the tragic death of the woman were expressed by the municipal administration of Colle di Val d’Elsa. The dynamics of what happened, the Municipality explains in a note, are currently being examined by the competent authorities. According to an initial reconstruction, the young woman found herself in difficulty while she was in the water. Despite the timely intervention of the rescuers, unfortunately it was not possible to save her life. “The community of Colle di Val d’Elsa joins the victim’s family in this moment of immense pain and together with the municipal administration wishes to express its deepest condolences to the young woman’s family and friends, affected by this very serious loss”, concludes the note.
