Diver’s Left Foot Broken by Fishing Boat Propeller: Keelung Accident Investigation Underway

A 41-year-old man surnamed Wu, a diver suspected of straying into the channel of a fishing port at 1:00 p.m., was washed into the channel by an undercurrent and his left foot was broken by the propeller of a fishing boat. The Keelung City Fire Department received a report at nearly 1 p.m. that 41-year-old Wu Nan’s left foot was broken by the propeller of a fishing boat while diving. He was conscious and sent to Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment. Wu Nan’s left foot was also found and sent to the hospital for treatment. Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital stated that it has worked with orthopedic and plastic surgeons to see if Wu Nan’s left foot can be sutured.
