Since the iPhone 12, the question is how Apple has only minimally innovated in its basic portfolio of phones. Sometimes even so little that you can count the news on the fingers of one hand. The iPhone 15 series, i.e. the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus models, are no exception. They are now losing even more of the meaning of their existence.
So there is no need to be afraid right from the start. If you own an iPhone 15, you are probably happy with it. In the end, it is not a bad phone, of course Apple will provide long-term support. But if you are looking for it in the sense that you would buy it right away, then drowning your finances in it right now makes no sense.
It won’t even be a month before the introduction of the iPhone 16 series. Of course, this means that the older generation will be cheaper. A few new features are still expected from the base iPhone 16, at least in terms of the redesigned camera module, the new A18 chip (not last year’s, as in the case of the iPhone 15), but also an increase in RAM from 6 to 8 GB. We will also get an Action button and a Capture button. But if you don’t want to spend on the latest iPhone, it is worth opting for the iPhone 14 instead of the 15.
The shiny black sheep of the whole family
That is, unless everything is decided by Dynamic Island. It’s nice, but its charm fades relatively quickly, not least because it’s still relatively unused. Of course, the iPhone 14 still only has a reduced cutout. But in other respects it doesn’t lose too much and, of course, it costs less.

But why all this? Why are we vilifying the iPhone 15 so much? Apple’s own decision is to blame. Due to its stubbornness and ignorance of RAM, it gave the base series only 6 GB of RAM, but Apple Intelligence needs 8 GB of RAM to run. That’s why you can only run it on current iPhones (that is, if it were possible) in the case of the iPhone 15 Pro.
Of course, we may not care about it at first, because Apple’s AI will not work here right away, but what is not now may be in some time. Hope is the last to die and we can still hope that we may see it in the next year. And if this happens, you may be very sorry that you did not pay the extra three thousand for the expected iPhone 16 or, on the contrary, did not save the same three thousand and bought “just” the iPhone 14, when it would already be a not insignificant difference of 6 thousand CZK (that is, if we take the price difference in Apple’s Online Store).
With the iPhone 15, this is the first time that a year-old Apple phone does not offer all the functions of the new iOS standard (i.e. without unique functions for a new line of phones). And that is why it is the fastest obsolete iPhone in the history of Apple, which does not have time to keep up with the competition, and especially its own stable, just one year after its launch. In addition, it will certainly be overtaken by the iPhone SE, which is about to be introduced in the spring of next year, and when it is launched on the market, it will actually be cheaper than what the iPhone 15 will cost at that time. . It all boils down to this: “Don’t get the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus!”
